Each morning, he climbed up to his rooftop in La Vista, Quezon City, at 5 a.m. to watch the sunrise behind the majestic Sierra Madre mountains, capturing the beauty of dawn and the promise each new day brings.

Recently, President Angeles sat down with renowned journalist Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna on the show Tune In Kay Tunying. He shared about his journey and his book in an intimate interview, which he jokingly admitted made him a “virgin” since it was his first time on camera.

The episode, titled “Batang dating nakapaa, naging bilyonaryo,” traces his path from humble beginnings to the success of his company today.

He spoke about what drives him and the legacy he hopes to leave behind, “When I was 74 years old na-realize ko I will not live forever, pero marami akong natutunan na ma-i-share ko sa mga kasama ko sa opisina, lalong-lalo na yung mga Millennials atsaka mga Gen Zs. Sabi ko, anong ma-i-share ko sa kanila? Ano ang pu-pwede kong gawin na madadala nila kahit na wala na ako? Libro.”

(“When I turned 74, I realized I won’t live forever, but I have learned so much that I want to share with my colleagues, especially Millennials and Gen Zs. I asked myself, what can I share with them? What can I leave behind even after I’m gone? A book.”)

According to him, this book stands as his legacy and letter to his family, colleagues, and everyone he has had the privilege to serve and work with. It embodies his hopes, lessons, and gratitude, offering inspiration to those who continue the journey.

In the interview, he also shared the positive attitude that guides the company, which is rooted in the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, and his favorite chapter, “Up Close and Personal,” which he fondly describes as the story of a young boy finding meaning in life.

He also spoke about his mindset of viewing failure as a milestone and an opportunity for growth. Through his book, he hopes this philosophy will encourage the readers to learn from mistakes, find better ways of doing things, and ultimately succeed not just in business, but in life as well.
