Filipinas Multi-Line Corporation completed the installation of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) at Hospicio de San Jose in Manila to support the institution’s efforts to provide a safer environment for the people under their care.
As part of Multi-Line’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the project involved the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of GUARDian FDAS across 10 buildings within the facility.
For over 215 years, Hospicio de San Jose has provided a home, care, and support to children, elderly individuals, and other vulnerable members of the community.
According to Maribel A. Ardales, Assistant Administrator of Hospicio de San Jose, the FDAS installation is especially important because the institution cares for vulnerable individuals who may face greater challenges in case of fire emergencies, making early fire detection and timely response essential to their safety.
She also shared that the FDAS installation addresses one of the requirements needed for their license renewal with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Due to this pending renewal, Hospicio de San Jose’s capacity remains limited. Currently, the institution cares for around 150 residents. Once renewed, they hope to increase their capacity and accommodate up to 250 individuals, allowing them to extend their services to more vulnerable people.
Solutions with Purpose
The Multi-Line team, together with Pres. Aurelio “Rey” Angeles and Vice Pres. for Finance and Administration Ma. Lourdes “Bee” Angeles, visited Hospicio de San Jose on July 31, 2026, marking the completion of the FDAS installation project.
More than providing a building system, the project reflects Multi-Line’s commitment to using its expertise to create a positive impact in the communities it serves.
As Multi-Line Building Systems, Inc. General Manager Dino Maghirang said during the turnover, it is the company’s privilege to share its expertise and capabilities to support Hospicio de San Jose’s long history of caring for the less fortunate.
Through initiatives like this, Multi-Line remains committed to giving back and supporting efforts that help build safer spaces and stronger communities.
