The Man Behind the Artistic Layouts

Graphic Artists are a vital role in every company not only to create impressive and creative marketing materials like brochures, print ads, websites, and social media designs but also to effectively communicate the message to a specific audience. As for Multi-Line, we have the Advertising Department which is in charge of this kind of role. One of the creative minds of the Advertising Department is Mr. Domenick “Dom” Talay.
As part of the Advertising Team, Dom is tasked to do several digital and print marketing materials like posters, brochures, flyers, signage, logos, online and social media ads, and graphics. He was also editing the photos and videos in company presentations in Prezi as well as the layout of the company’s Scriptum.
When asked how did he acquire and hone his skills as graphic artist, he said, “Noong pumasok ako sa Multi-Line mayroon na kong basic knowledge sa pag-eedit ng pictures using Adobe Photoshop at Windows Movie Maker for video editing. Noong nilagay ako sa Advertising, tinuruan ako ni Sir James sa pag-eedit hindi lang sa photoshop kundi sa iba pang applications tulad ng Adobe Illustrator, Indesign at Adobe Premiere. Natutunan kong maging creative sa’king mga ginagawa. Mas lalong nag-improve ang skills ko at nadagdagan ang kaalaman ko sa pag-eedit.”
Not only that he is inclined to graphic art and design, but Dom is also in to music and photography. He shared how music and photography greatly affects his life. “Aside from layout, hobby ko ang tumugtog ng gitara, maglaro ng basketball at kumuha ng litrato. Since highschool ako, tumutugtog na ko ng gitara at nakasama ako sa music ministry ng isang religious organization. Noong college, bumuo ako ng banda at sumali sa battle of the bands sa school kung saan ako nag-aral. Kapag malungkot o masaya ako, sa pagtugtog ko ng gitara idinadaan at inilalabas ang mga nararamdaman ko. Sa pagtugtog ko rin nahahanap ang peace and love. Ngayon, nahilig na rin ako sa photography. Masarap sa pakiramdam na kuhanan ng litrato ang mga nasa paligid mo pati na rin ang mga magagandang bagay, lugar at mahahalagang pangyayari sa buhay ng isang tao.”
