Online Vehicle Monitoring and Reservation System

One problem encountered by a growing company is monitoring the usage and condition of the company vehicles. As for Multi-Line, this problem has been solved by the Online Vehicle Monitoring and Reservation System created by Mr. Renz Joseph Castelo of Filipinas Multi-Line Corporation (FMC). 


Renz joined FMC last June 28, 2022 as a Systems Programmer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao last 2022. 


He is currently supervised by Mr. Erwin Caloing, Systems Programmer Supervisor, and Mr. Sammy Pablo, IT Manager.

In an interview with Renz, when asked about what problem/improvement is being solved by the newly created system and how this problem came up, he elaborated, “The problems encountered were: not knowing who will use the vehicle, they don’t know when the vehicle is available, not being aware of the vehicle’s registration, not being notified of when the car needs maintenance, and it is hard to produce reports. With the help of this system, these problems will be lessened. The developed system can make a reservation for the vehicle, wherein they can easily access who used the system. It can monitor the vehicle’s availability. It can also monitor the registration of vehicles and maintenance schedules. The system can produce reports much easier.”


The implementation of this system started last November 2, 2022, for the usage of intended beneficiaries namely the Warehouse, Purchasing, and Sales departments. His message to the beneficiaries, “I hope that you understand the process of the newly developed system. Thank you for the ideas you shared with me throughout the development of the project/system. It is an honor to be a developer/programmer of this project.”


Surely, the Online Vehicle Monitoring and Reservation System will give the company greater control over the company vehicles which will result in a better, faster, and cost-efficient service to our customers. 


This project of Renz signifies that we can use the undesirable situations we encounter in our daily work to improve the quality of our work and for us to achieve better and more efficient results.
