Three veteran EF employees retire after 25 years of service

By Margarita Vinuya

Another batch of veteran EverFirst (EF) employees were honored last December 4, 2024 in a simple celebration of their 25th year service in the company.  It was held at Mayaman training room attended by President Rey Angeles, general manager Charito Geguiera, operations manager Elyjoy Conde, operations manager Krizia Mae Oliva, district managers, area supervisors, hr manager Luz Gastilo and the hr assistants.

The three retirees, still energetic and enthusiastic in their work, are Ms.  Vanessa Belangoy, district manager of District 2 (Quezon City, Caloocan, and Valenzuela), Jinky Sauquillo, signatory officer, and Sharon Miranda, approving officer.

They were all hired in August 1999 when EverFirst was unstable and only two years in the industry. EF only has three    companies,     namely:     EverFirst   Lending   Corp.

(Novaliches), EverFirst Credit Corp. (Valenzuela) and EverFirst Loans Corp. (Calderon Bldg.).

Vanessa, a.k.a. Vanny, who hails from Isabela province was employed at the age of 22.  She started as a loan processor of Novaliches branch and was quickly promoted to branch head after two years.  The experiences she acquired at this branch, along with the support of management, her colleagues, and her strong work ethic, helped her pioneer the Camarin branch in Caloocan City.

During her time, it became one of the fastest-growing branches in EF’s early years. In 2009, she was promoted as area supervisor, supervising several branches of EF in the south of Manila and Cavite. Seven years later, she was promoted as district manager (South Manila), and was awarded for her excellence in work, expertise, good leadership and commitment.

Meanwhile, Jinky started at EF when she was just 24 years old. Her first job was being an accounting staff and was eventually promoted as accounting supervisor in July 2007.  She was elevated to supervisory position at Treasury Department in August 2009. In June 2021, she became part of the Approving Department as its signatory officer.

And lastly, Sharon, at a young age of 20 was hired as a loan processor at the Valenzuela branch. After two years, she was then transferred to Marikina branch and at the Commonwealth branch . Her extensive experience as a loan processor for 10 years led to her promotion as the pioneer branch head of  Sta. Mesa during its opening in 2009. In 2013, she headed Commonwealth branch.

During the 2022 transition, she was moved to Tandang Sora branch until her promotion as approving officer this November.  Because of her good leadership and expertise attained from her years of experience in work, she became recipient of various awards when she headed these three big branches.

The three retirees were with the company through its struggles for the past decades, up to its current success of 100 branches located in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, Olongapo, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon provinces serving both SSS and GSIS pensioners. They served as mentors, coaches and leaders to their teams, encouraging them to hit their goals.

The management is very grateful for the dedication, hard work, perseverance and commitment of Ms. Vanny, Jinky and Sharon which have made significant contributions to EverFirst.  Congratulations on your retirement!
