EverFirst goes to Singapore
By Krizia Mae Oliva
Seventy-nine EverFirst employees, together with qualified managers from Filipinas Multi-Line Corporation, went on a 4-day trip to Singapore from August 17 to 20, 2024. This trip is one of EverFirst’s incentives for its qualified employees.
Day 1
On their first day, the group took a 4-hour flight to Singapore with Philippine Airlines. They enjoyed comfortable seats equipped with personal televisions and a full-course meal. Upon arrival at the airport, they were assisted by two tour buses and checked into a beautiful hotel in Geylang Street, an area famous for its incredible food. Some employees eagerly tried Singapore’s famous food like laksa, chicken satay, chili crab (Singapore’s national dish) and even fried frog. To ensure a great experience despite Singapore’s high cost of living, each employee received pocket money worth P21,351.90 from the company.
Singapore is a multi-racial country with distinct areas for different nationalities. China Town for the Chinese, Little India for the Indians and Lucky Plaza for Filipinos. Many employees enjoyed shopping at Lucky Plaza and other shopping centers upon arrival. Even in Singapore, Filipinos are known for their love of shopping especially when it comes to bringing home pasalubong for their friends and loved ones.
Day 2
On the second day, the employees toured famous landmarks in Singapore, such as the Merlion and Gardens by the Bay. They also visited the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, where they were amazed at how Singapore managed to create a man-made forest inside a gigantic, air-conditioned arena. Some employees had a thrilling time riding the Skyline Luge, a gravity-fueled cart ride.
In the evening, they were mesmerized by the amazing light show of the “Super Trees” in Gardens by the Bay. These structures stand between 82 and 150 feet tall.
Day 3
The third day was spent at Universal Studios Singapore. As one of only four Universal Studios theme parks in the world, the group felt honored to enjoy this unique experience. Despite the long lines, the employees managed to try as many rides as possible.
In the evening, some employees went to watch the lights and fireworks at Sensory Scape.
Day 4
After three fun-filled but exhausting days, some employees opted for a few extra hours of sleep at the hotel. However, those still packed with energy, went on a last-minute shopping and sightseeing. Thanks to Singapore’s fast and convenient transportation system, everyone was able to explore the city with ease. While waiting for their flight back home, the group enjoyed touring one of the largest airports in the world, Changi Airport, where the famous Jewel Vortex was located.
Although some employees remarked Singapore as expensive and tiring due to the long walks, everyone agreed that it was an incredible place worth revisiting. This company tour was a memorable, fun and amazing experience that everyone is very grateful for.
