From learner to speaker: Edrian Enriquez’s Enculturation journey

By Giovanni Fermin

When Project Engineer Edrian Enriquez of Multi-Line Building Systems, Inc. (MBI) stepped into the Enculturation Seminar on July 16–17, 2025, he was eager to learn—but he didn’t expect that just weeks later, he would be standing at the front of the room as one of its speakers.

During the two-day session, Edrian was more than just a participant—he was an active contributor. Colleagues and facilitators noted his enthusiastic engagement during discussions, as he asked insightful questions and shared thoughtful inputs. His commitment to understanding the company’s values and culture paid off when he emerged as one of the top scorers in the seminar’s examination.

“Noong una, natatakot ako mag-Enculturation kasi nung nag-a-apply ako, naririnig ko sa mga empleyado na matagal daw pala tapos may exam. Actually, pangatlong invitation na sa’kin ‘yun bago ako umattend. Pero since requirement, kailangan ko na mag-attend. Nung nag-attend na ako, na-amaze ako na very practical pala. Lahat ng discussion, applicable sa trabaho at sa personal, kahit outside ng trabaho. Yung naging motivation ko, nakikita ko na ang magbe-benefit nito ay ako. Tinuturuan talaga tayo paano lumago. Isa sa hindi ko malimutan ay yung mantra: Problema – Ambisyon – Bisyon – Sakripisyon – Komisyon.

But for Edrian, the experience didn’t end with a high score. Inspired by the topics and the sense of purpose reinforced during the seminar, he took a bold step—volunteering to be one of the speakers for the next Enculturation batch, held on August 6–7, 2025.

“Nag-volunteer ako as a speaker kasi ayaw kong matapos na hanggang doon na lang yung natutunan ko. Gusto kong maging part ng Enculturation. Kasi bilang speaker, hindi ka lang basta nagsasalita—natututo ka pa rin sa pag-aaral ng topics at sa discussions.”

His move from attendee to resource person reflects the very heart of Multi-Line’s culture—taking ownership, living the values, and sharing them forward.

“Para sa August batch participants, dapat yakapin nila yung buong Enculturation program para ma-absorb nila nang buo. Lahat ng tinuro, dapat isa-isip, isa-puso, at isa-gawa. Kailangan iisa tayo ng kultura para pare-pareho tayo ng layunin.”

Edrian’s journey is a testament that the Enculturation program is not just about teaching company history and values—it’s about igniting a deeper connection to our mission: to serve more customers and serve them better, faster, and at less cost.

From being an active learner to becoming an inspiring speaker, Edrian proves that embracing the company’s culture can spark a ripple effect—one that inspires others to do the same.
