PROJECT BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Albay High School Gabaldon School Building, a centennial Pasig Type, Plan 20 structure located within the Bicol University West Campus in Legazpi City, Albay, was documented to establish a baseline study that will help support its future heritage conservation efforts. Through historical research, field observation, photographic documentation, condition assessment, legislative evaluation, and consultations with experts in the field, the study identified physical changes that deviated from the school building’s original Gabaldon architecture. Conservation-oriented design strategies were developed through digital plans and models in accordance with the principles of heritage conservation and the Gabaldon Conservation Act to restore its architectural integrity and advocate the preservation of its tangible and intangible heritage values.
