During his high school days, Tugare joined a band where he played the guitar. In college, he formed a band with his friends and had gigs in resto bars and events. Their band also participated in many contests, most of which, were Battle of the Bands. Unfortunately after three years, he had to quit the band to focus on his studies; but that did not stop him from playing musical instruments for their church.
Tugare also shared that with the support of his uncle, he joined a music workshop at Music World in La Trinidad, Benguet for a year before he entered college.
When asked why he did not pursue music as a college degree, he answered, “Ayaw ko pa kasi mag-aral sa college agad-agad noon. Kaysa walang ginagawa, naisipan ko mag-workshop muna ng one year. May passion talaga ako tumugtog, para bang kahit saan ako pumunta, kasama ko ang music. Kahit sa school at sa company, nagagamit ko pa rin ang talent ko.”
True to this fact, we have witnessed his talent countless times; mostly in intermission numbers for EverFirst awarding ceremonies accompanied by other singers in the company. Just recently, he played guitar in a music video produced by EverFirst for this year’s Valentines promo.
We look forward to more performances from you in upcoming company events, Jaime!
