EverFirst Scholars from Holy Child Catholic School

By Krizia Mae Oliva

EverFirst Loans Corporation celebrated its first decade of providing scholarships to outstanding students of Holy Child Catholic School on September 9, 2023, at Mayaman Car Park. The scholars, their teacher, the school principal, and some friends were invited.

The scholarship program of EF started in 2013 with 4 scholars and now has 13 active scholars. Over the past decade, EF has awarded 44 scholarships. In the school year 2023-2024, EF will grant 8 scholarships.

The event began with a series of presentations that showcased who EF is to its clients. The scholars were moved by the history of and how good service and nation building is at the heart the company.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of the scholars. Among the 11 scholars who attended the ceremony, one graduate was Summa Cum Laude, another graduate was Magna Cum Laude, five were Cum Laude, and one received a merit award. All of their speeches were exceptional, and they were very thankful to EF for supporting them in achieving their dreams.

Jhazper Arroyo, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Adamson University with a Bachelor of Science major in Accountancy, said that this scholarship enabled him to pursue his dreams. As he chased his dreams, he learned that success is rising up to every failure that comes his way. And because of the assistance given by EF, he was able to focus on his studies and achieve success without worrying about his finances.

The event was a testament that EF stands by its tagline, “Kaagapay mo sa buhay,” and “Dala Namin ay Galak sa Inyong Buhay.” EF does not only provides financial assistance to its clients but also contributes to nation-building by helping young people with their education because young people, when informed and empowered, and when they realize that what they do truly makes a difference, can indeed change the world.
