The pursuit of excellence rewarded

By Ralph Aldrin Dacara

On October 6, 2023, an award ceremony was held at the Multi-Line Conference Room, honoring the exemplary performance of Multi-Line Structures Corporation’s Project Implementation Department for their outstanding work on the One Ayala Avenue project. The department was bestowed with the esteemed “Best in Quality Assurance and Control Award” by MDC.

The event was graced by esteemed individuals from various departments, including the Engineering Department and Project Implementation Department of MSC, the Human Resources Department, Mr. Dino Maghirang and Mr. Francis Billones of MBI, Ms. Bee Angeles, the VP of Finance and Admin, and Mr. Rey Angeles, the President.

The coveted Certificate of Recognition was presented to Engr. Darniel Macadaeg, the Project Engineer who played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the project. As a token of appreciation for his exceptional contributions, Engr. Macadaeg was awarded a cheque worth P7,000.00. Furthermore, Engr. Charly Morales, the Team Leader, and Engr. Michael Florendo, the Operations Manager, were also presented with well-deserved cheques in acknowledgment of their outstanding efforts.

During the ceremony, Engr. Macadaeg shed light on the journey to this remarkable success. “Nagkaroon ang MDC ng Quarterly Performance Rating sa lahat ng projects nito. Nang unang binigay ang aming rating na 82%, pasado naman na ito, tipong pwede na rin. Pero naalala ko ang one time na sinabi ng supervisors na “hindi pwede ang pwede na”. As much as possible do the best you can give. So lumapit ako sa mga staff and heads ng MDC para tanungin at alamin ang mga criteria na hinihingi nila para tumaas ang rating na binibigay nila. Then, dumederetso na ako ng tanong dun sa heads para sa kailangan kong information. And with that information, I strived for the highest rating we can get on the criteria given to us. Kaya nang sumunod na rating, nakakuha na tayo ng 95%,”  Engr. Macadaeg shared.

In a post-award interview, Engr. Macadaeg expressed his elation and gratitude for the recognition he received. “I am delighted that the dedication and sacrifices I made during my time on-site have been acknowledged. This recognition instills a sense of pride for the achievements and success we have attained,”  he remarked.
